T-shirt is a lightweight, usually knitted, pullover shirt, close-fitting and with a round neckline and short sleeves, worn as an undershirt or outer garment. A T-shirt is a style of fabric shirt, named after the T shape of the body and sleeves. It is very popular now a day’s among all classes of people, especially in the young generation. These are very fashionable, classic, durable, and easy to wear. In this article, I will give a sewing flowchart of a basic t-shirt.
Production Sequence of a Basic T-shirt
Pieces received from cutting section.
↓
The front part and back part matching according to number and size so that avoiding the shading problem.
↓
Shoulder joining by overlock sewing machine.
↓
Shoulder top stitching by flat lock /plain sewing machine.
↓
Rib sewing (for neck) as per size by plain sewing machine.
↓
Rib rounding by plain sewing machine.
↓
Rib contrasting (if needed) by plain sewing machine.
↓
Neck joining with the body by over lock sewing machine.
↓
Neck top stitching by flat lock sewing machine.
↓
Neck piping with the back part by plain sewing machine.
↓
Piping top stitching by flat lock/plain sewing machine.
↓
Sleeve contrasting (if needed) by plain sewing machine.
↓
Sleeve hemming by over lock sewing machine.
↓
Sleeve matching according to number so that avoiding shading.
↓
Sleeve joining with the body (Left and Right) by over lock sewing machine.
↓
Sleeve tagging by plain sewing machine so as to facilitate easy positioning while side seaming.
↓
Side seaming with label by over lock sewing machine.
↓
Length measuring and scissoring if necessary.
↓
Bottom contrasting by plain sewing machine.
↓
Bottom hemming by flatlock (Zigzag stitch) sewing machine.
↓
Inspection and send it for ironing.
